North Dakota’s Potential For Accumulating Snow Next Week
March Weather has been a Roller Coaster
We are up one day, down the next. Case in point, Bismarck topped off at 58 early yesterday afternoon, and by the time I left for home after work, it was down 20 degrees in a couple of hours to 38. An even bigger discrepancy yesterday (Wednesday, March 4th), while it was 58 degrees in the Capital City, it was only 14 degrees in Langdon, which is located near the Canadian border in northeast North Dakota. That is an incredible swing in temperatures in our state that you don't often see.
We could see the 60s this Weekend
After a couple of cooler days on Thursday and Friday (30s for highs), we could reach the 50s on Saturday and into the 60s by Sunday. Again, talk about up and down. That is springtime to the core in our neck of the woods.
Snow Chances Next Week
Don't get too used to the 60s or spring warmth, because we could be looking at a couple of chances of snow next week. Check out this weather model shared from Tea Storm Chasers in South Dakota.
Again, this is just a weather model, and not a forecast, so don't go running to your local neighborhood TV Meteorologist to complain. It does look like next week will be more active for winter weather in North Dakota, with at least a couple of chances of snow in the 10-day forecast. One on Tuesday, March 10th, and another later in the week, where Accuweather is predicting perhaps a bigger system the weekend of the 13th through the 15th of March.
It's too far out to predict a storm at this point, but it's worth keeping an eye on.
We will continue to monitor the situation for you right here online, and on-air with our trusted meteorologists from Severe Studios. In the meantime, I wouldn't put those shovels away quite yet.
