Storm Totals Across North Dakota: Mother Nature Was Angry

Mother Nature was angry last night.

Heavy rain, damaging winds, hail, and lightning strikes filled the North Dakota skies Tuesday, August 1st from about 5 pm into the overnight hours.

Wind damage was especially destructive on the south shores of Lake Sakakawea, where several campgrounds and private homes were hit with strong straight-line winds that toppled campers, pontoons, and wreaked havoc on camper's personal belongings.

A Tornado Warning was even issued around 9 pm last night for northern Burleigh County near the town of Wilton, North Dakota.

At the time of this article, it has not been confirmed whether a tornado touchdown took place or whether or not any damage took place.

The weather should be a bit more tranquil today and Thursday before storms are possible again on Friday.
