You might remember that Taco John's, a Mexican fast food favorite in North Dakota, left this city just over two years ago.

Yep, back in the summer of 2023, Fargo, North Dakota, lost all of its Taco John's locations, which caused quite the stir in Bison Nation. For a recap of what transpired, see below.

Now, according to our friends at KVRR-TV, Fargo people are craving those delicious Potato Oles, and that special seasoning will be able to get their fix.

According to the article, Fargo will be getting FIVE new Taco John's locations. That's a lot of Potato Oles goodness coming to North Dakota's largest city. It's hard to imagine a city the size of Fargo without a Taco John's, a serious omission. Now, it appears that it will be coming to an end.

When will Fargo be getting these five new Taco John's locations?

Brett Itterman of Pentex Restaurant Group is responsible for the Taco John's reboot attempt in Fargo. The first Taco John's restaurant is expected to open before the end of 2025. The second location will open in early 2026. The former Taco John's location at 4522 26th Avenue in South Fargo is set to be one of the locations, as permits have already been filed to fill this space. You would expect the remaining Taco John's stores will be open sometime in 2026.

Taco John's has a long history as a Midwest staple when it comes to Mexican fast food.

It was founded all the way back in 1969 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Taco John's now has around 350 restaurants across 22 states. As I mentioned, Taco John's is world-renowned for their Potato Oles and that special seasoning that is really out of this world. You just can't seem to duplicate that seasoning on Oles. Believe me, I have tried. I remember many evenings after a night at the bars, where a Taco John's run for a 6-pack of tacos, and a pound of potato oles was a given.

We have three Taco John's locations in the Capital Region.

Two in Bismarck, and one in Mandan. Definitely, one of the best fast food joints in the state. Stay hungry, my friends.
