I predicted we would have a "brown" Thanksgiving many months ago.

I'm not a meteorologist but I probably should've been.  I may have missed my calling.  This past week has been gorgeous in Bismarck Mandan, and all of North Dakota for that matter.  We even managed at 60-plus degrees day on Wednesday.  I've actually been running in shorts in the evening for my workouts, AGAIN in November.  Unheard of.

So, after all this warmth, will we come crashing back to earth over the Thanksgiving holiday?

To be honest, I can't remember many Thanksgiving holidays where we didn't have some sort of travel problems.  Either weather-wise or icy roads. "Brown" Thanksgiving's are certainly not the norm.  I remember very few over the course of being a  lifelong North Dakota resident.

Yes, we are going to trend cooler but looks like ZERO travel problems are expected throughout the 4 day Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Yes, it will be cooler and the northwest wind will be blowing a bit, but we have no snow to blow around so no travel issues are expected whatsoever during the Thanksgiving holiday.

This goes for the entire state of North Dakota.  Zero travel problems are expected. Feel free to travel just about anywhere in the region.  Temps will be significantly cooler from this past week but no icy roads.  That's the good news.  The bad news, now you definitely do have to spend time with your relatives.

Happy "Brown" Thanksgiving North Dakota.
