Sad news is being reported that one of the most famous athletes and people in the world, Muhammad Ali, three time world boxing champion has died at the age of 74.

Born Casssius Clay in Kentucky in 1942. He refused to fight in the Vietnam War and paid the price for standing up for his beliefs, but after 3 years, he won his fight in the Supreme Court for being a "draft dodger."

Ali rose to prominence for winning the gold metal in 1960 for the light heavy weight division in Rome. Known as the worlds greatest boxer had a quick wit and quick mouth. He was known for his poetry quotes like " It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."

ABC Sports commentator Howard Cosell and Ali exchanged barbs on TV but also become very close friends.

After retirement, Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease.

In a family statement, the funeral will be held Wednesday, June 8th.
