Matt Kenseth Gets Easy Win at NASCAR’s Pure Michigan 400
Matt Kenseth led 146 of 200 laps on his way to an easy victory at NASCAR’s Pure Michigan 400 Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich.
Kenseth started on the pole and led an astounding 73 percent of the laps in the race on his way to capturing his third checkered flag of the 2015 season. His dominating win was the fifth victory in the past six Sprint Cup races for Joe Gibbs Racing: Kyle Busch’s three wins and Kenseth’s victory at Pocono.
Kevin Harvick finished second, with Martin Truex Jr., Austin Dillon and Denny Hamlin rounding out the top five finishers.
Harvick remained in first place in the season’s points standings with Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Truex Jr and Brad Keselowski immediately behind him.
Just three races remain until NASCAR’s 16-driver Chase playoff series, which starts Sept. 20 in Chicago.
