Minnesota Vikings Running Back Adrian Peterson Suspended for the Rest of 2014
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has suspended Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson for the remainder of the 2014 season.
The news broke early Tuesday morning that Peterson would not be considered for reinstatement until April 15th, 2015, according to ESPN.
ESPN is also reporting that the NFL Players Association will appeal Peterson's suspension immediately, as "the discipline imposed is inconsistent."
Peterson was indicted in September on a felony charge of injury to a child, after it was discovered that he used a switch to discipline his 4-year old son. Peterson pleaded no contest to the lesser charge of misdemeanor reckless assault late last week.
Goodell also wrote Peterson a letter, explaining exactly why he was suspending the running back for the remainder of the 2014 season. You can read excerpts from that letter HERE.
The Vikings are at home this Sunday, November 23rd, to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
