BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man accused of violating a protection order by transporting a juvenile from North Dakota to Iowa has been sentenced to federal prison.

David Lilley, of Belcourt, pleaded guilty in May to interstate violation of a protection order and interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle.

Authorities say the 27-year-old Lilley stole a vehicle on Feb. 17 and took the juvenile from the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation to Iowa.

Lilley was prohibited from having contact with the juvenile because of a tribal court order.

U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland sentenced Lilley to three years in prison and ordered him to pay back more than $1,400.
