ND Motorists Encouraged To Share Roadways With Farm Equipment

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — With harvest season underway in North Dakota, motorists are being encouraged to share the road with large and slow-moving farm equipment.

Transportation Department Safety Division Director Mark Nelson says motorists should use caution, especially on rural, two-lane roads.

He says farm equipment cannot easily be slowed down, and they also have large blind spots.

In 2012, there were 60 crashes in North Dakota involving farm equipment. Nelson says crashes can be prevented if motorists and farm equipment operators take extra precautions.
