North Dakota Ag Leads In Honey Production
In an impressive run of production dominance, North Dakota has once again lead the nation in the production of honey.
The United States Department of Agriculture released its annual report on Thursday. The report shows North Dakota produced 38.2 million pounds of honey, making up 25 percent of America's production. Montana, California, South Dakota and Florida round out the country's top five producers.
North Dakota's honey production totaled at $71.7 million, up 12 percent from 2017. The report also stated North Dakota has 530,000 producing colonies, which produced an average of 72 pounds per colony.
