Authorities are investigating a possible drowning at the campsite of the Dakota Access Pipeline protest site Sunday evening. (Oct 30)

This is an active investigation currently, but this is what we know - the investigation is happening at the Cannonball River, next to the DAPL campsite. On scene in the Rosebud area are ambulances and the Federal Bureau of Indian Affairs. This is near the Oceti Skaowin camp area.

The call came in near 5 p.m., according to a spokesperson at the Morton County Sheriff's Department. Search and rescue teams from the county are on site along with the state Game and Fish Department.

As of 5:55 p.m., this was still an active investigation.
