A rehabilitated bald eagle was set free Thursday afternoon at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park near Mandan.

The bird arrived at the Dakota Zoo in September, with lacerations on its head, unable to fend for itself.

Following treatment and several weeks of therapy, the eagle was deemed ready to be re-released into the wild.
