SD Beef Plant Lays Off 250

Over 250 workers at the Northern Beef Packers plant in Aberdeen were laid off from their jobs on Wednesday.

This leaves just six employees at the plant, said Julie Johnson, executive director of Absolutely Aberdeen, an economic development and marketing program for the Aberdeen area.

Several employees said the embattled company has not paid them in more than two weeks.
