We've all heard the rumors that Fort Abraham Lincoln is actually haunted, so we decided to find out for ourselves.

As a Bismarck native, I grew up hearing the stories of the hauntings at Fort Abraham Lincoln. We attend the Haunted Fort each year, but do you ever think about what really goes on out there when no one else is around?

Staff members have reported hearing footsteps, voices and seeing figures at the Fort for many years. We asked our friend Matt to give us a tour of the stables, barracks and Custer house after dark to discuss some of the paranormal activity in each building.

Let's start with the stables. They actually seem pretty harmless, until you hear the dark stories of soldiers who hung themselves and the ghostly horses.

Be sure to watch our video above. The next video in our series will highlight the barracks and the living conditions of the soldiers. You won't want to miss it!

The Haunted Fort begins Friday, October 6th at Fort Abraham Lincoln and will be open the following evenings:

  • October 6th & 7th
  • October 13th & 14th
  • October 19th, 20th & 21st
  • October 27th & 28th

New this year is the Zombie Battlefield. You'll have a chance to kill zombies in this new paintball experience. Tickets for the Zombie Battlefield are $10.
