After the snow finally started to fall in the area and accumulations are forming, the travel alerts and advisories are now being issued.

You should have all travel arrangements complete by now as conditions will only deteriorate as the storm progresses through the area.

Heavy snow is already being reported through the area, and this will soon be accompanied by strong and gusty winds that will cause blowing snow and white out conditions. Travel is not advised.

UPDATE 6:16 PM

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol have issued a No Travel Advisory for western, central, and northeastern North Dakota due to snow, blowing snow, and ice under the snow creating hazardous driving conditions. Cities included in the No Travel Advisory are: Williston, Dickinson, Minot, Bismarck, Devils Lake, Jamestown, Valley City, Grand Forks and surrounding areas. Motorists in these areas should not travel as blowing and drifting snow is creating hazardous driving conditions.
