Wale and Fox News’ Tomi Lahren Argue Over Jay-Z’s “Superbug” Comment Aimed at President Trump
The cyber beef between Wale and Tomi Lahren continues. This time around, their issue stems from some JAY-Z comments directed at President Trump.
The comments in question found Hov comparing Trump to a superbug, saying the president's success came from society's willingness to cover up the surface of racism instead of actually addressing it. "When you do that, you know, when the bugs come and you spray something, and you create a superbug," he said in a CNN interview with Van Jones this past Saturday (Jan. 27). "Because you don't take care of the problem. You don't take the trash out. You just keep spraying whatever over it to make it acceptable. As those things grow, we create a superbug and now we have Donald Trump."
Being the incendiary political commentator she is, Lahren made sure to air her grievances with Hov on Twitter the very next day (Jan. 28), referencing the rappers' past songs to say he's no better than our president. "As opposed to you who raps about bitches and sisters and brags about selling crack. Yeah...Trump is the problem...sure," she wrote in one tweet. That's when Wale clapped back.
"Tammy he isn’t the president . Also weren’t you just “rapping” 21 Savage???.. go and sit down my friend," Wale tweeted at Lahren, referencing the video of the media personality rapping 21 Savage's "Bank Account." Lahren wasn't going to take this one sitting down, though.
"Hey bud, good to hear from you again," she wrote back. "Missed your Twitter presence. So anyway...no Jay-Z is not the president but he did campaign for Hillary pretty heavily. Ya know, the woman famous for her "super predator" agenda. Ironic, right?"
Wale responded to Lahren by asking if she'd be okay if Trump sexually objectified her like he did women in that famous "locker room talk" video from the fall of 2016. "And what if one of these rappers said “grab em by the 🐱 “ ? With YOUR name attached .. would u keep the same energy Tammy?" wrote the MMG rapper.
If you haven't been keeping score, Wale purposely mispronounced Tomi Lahren's name on his song "Smile" last January. At the time, she called out the D.C. rapper on Twitter.
Before that Twitter spat, she called Beyonce a hypocrite for her Black Panther-referencing Super Bowl halftime show because her husband (Hov) used to rap about drugs and violence. Hov then included a snippet of Lahren's criticism in his guest verse on Pusha T's "Drug Dealer's Anonymous," in May 2016. Nearly two years later, the conflict continues.
