Will The 2023 Egg Hunt At The North Dakota Capitol Grounds Happen?
The weather isn't exactly working in our favor as of late. We've gotten quite a bit of snow these last two months, and the piles/mounds don't seem to be going anywhere.
Even if we do have a warmup, it will take a while for all the snow to melt and clear for fun outdoor events.
Optimist Club Easter Egg Hunt
Every year, for six years now, there has been an Easter egg hunt at the North Dakota State Capitol Grounds. It's put on by the Optimist Club.
There are thousands of eggs, games, music, and tons of kids and parents having fun. -- We would hate for Bismarck families to miss out on this cherished event.
This year it is set for April 2nd at 1:30 pm.
What Will Happen?
I generally try to stay positive, but I'm also a planner. If you're like me, you might be asking "What if?"
What if the snow doesn't melt? How will the kids hunt for eggs on the Capitol lawn?
I reached out to one of the event organizers, Alicia Vollmers, to see what plans they had in place for such a scenario.
Would they find a location that allows them to host the egg hunt indoors? Would it be cancelled altogether?
Vollmers tells me they aren't planning on throwing in the towel.
"We are looking at some other potential options in case the snow doesn't melt. We should have a decision made by next week," said Vollmer.
Yay! It looks like the the club still plans to work around the weather to make this fun, family event still happen for the BisMan community.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thanks for reading!
