“Classic” Cartoons Were More Violent Than Many Remember

In this age of ultra-violent games like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, it's easy to forget how brutal cartoons were back in the day.

As Slate magazine notes in a recent article, many of the old Loony Tunes featurettes were barbarous by modern standards.  Many have been edited for modern TV, or not shown at all.  To wit:
