I tend to shy away from national political issues, but once in a while I get a question worth addressing, like this one: why am I not a Tea Partier?  (On certain issues - like this one - I have been described as so conservative I make guys like Hannity look like New Dealers)

There are several answers, but for now, I'll say this: you Tea Party people really need to learn to pick your battles.

This Memorial Day Weekend, many of our friends on the right (the same ones who like to make a big deal of "symbolism over substance") are making a federal issue (so to speak) about our Commander In Chief's failure to promptly salute a Marine (full story here).

Aside from the question of whether this is really proper protocol (more on that here), the question in my mind is this:

Don't we really have bigger fish to fry in this country...?
