Counterfeit Cash Surfaces in Bismarck-Mandan

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities are investigating counterfeit money surfacing in Bismarck and neighboring Mandan.

In Bismarck, a bogus $50 bill was passed recently at a Wal-Mart store, and two fake $100 bills were passed at a Foot Locker store. Mandan police say they're investigating three instances of counterfeit $20 bills being passed at different businesses.

The Bismarck Tribune reports the U.S. Secret Service is helping with the investigation.
