Bismarck North Dakota Hockey Hero To Compete In Olympics

Bismarck St. Mary's Central High School graduate and Bismarck Blizzard superstar Britta Curl is in Los Angeles today waiting to clear COVID testing protocols so she can leave for China on Tuesday. She's racing around the world to join her teammates on the United States Women's Hockey Team.

Britta has been added as an injury replacement for Brianna Decker.

Brianna Decker is widely considered one of the top women's hockey players in the world. Decker was injured Thursday in a USA game against Finland. Her injury will keep her out of the remainder of the games. Fortunately, the USA women's hockey squad is deep in talent. Talent that should soon include one of Bismarck's best.

Britty Britty Bang Bang has an unbelievable resume of winning.

Britta has reached the pinnacles at all levels of her sport. According to the NDHSAA, as a member of the Bismarck Blizzard, she was part of four state championships. That's just the start, she won gold with the Under-18 Women's National Team at the World Championship in Russia. For the record brittybrittybangbang is her Instagram handle.

Britta then took her talents and significant smarts to Badger country.

Let all hope Britta clears all the COVID protocols and enjoys safe travels to her Olympic dreams. The USA and Canada are the only teams to have ever won gold medals in Olympic Women's Hockey history. The United States is the defending Olympic champion thanks to a victory against Canada in 2018. The stars of that game were Monique Lamoureux-Morando and her twin sister Jocelyn Lamoureux-Davidson, the only two North Dakota women to have ever played Olympic hockey.
