We all heard it was coming but of course, most North Dakotans are pretty savvy when it comes to the weather

We've had blizzard warnings before, only to see them just miss hitting us when the winds shift direction. Reports of school closures all around Bismarck started rolling in late yesterday afternoon. Last night after work I stopped by Dan's Supermarket, and there were a billion other people who had the same idea I had, it felt like it was the last day on earth. I get it though, people want to be prepared in case they are stuck at home for a couple of days.

The true test of a strong winter is who stays open through all of it?

The forecast from accuweather.com spells it out pretty clearly:

...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT/6 PM MDT/THURSDAY

WHAT: Heavy Snow and blizzard conditions expected.Total snow accumulations between 12 and 24 inches, with locally higher amounts up to 30 inches possible. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

WHERE: Portions of west central and south central North Dakota

WHEN: Until 7 PM CDT/6 PM MDT/ Thursday

So the big question is who stays open during this?

The hub of Bismarck closed down early today

Kirkwood Mall to me is like the hub of Bismarck. This morning a media alert was sent out: KIRKWOOD MALL CLOSING AT 12:00 PM TODAY. Here is part of what Mikalah Auer, marketing director released "..We will continue to monitor the weather to determine an opening status for tomorrow" So for now it's "Only time ( and Mother Nature ) will tell"

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
