We have had some major sports stars to come out of North Dakota, and Bismarck has its very own local legend. Britta Curl of Bismarck has had an impressive hockey career. The college student is set to play in the upcoming Women's World Championship.

Curl was one of 13 forwards to be selected to play hockey for Team USA in the Women's World Championship in Nova Scotia. Team USA is one of 10 teams from around the world that will be heading to Canada in hopes of becoming world champions. The games start March 31st, and go through April 10th.

Curl has definitely proven her worth as a top-tier hockey player, as this isn't her first time playing among the best-of-the-best. Two years ago, she was a part of the US Under 18 team that won the title in Russia. The college sophomore also plays for second-ranked Wisconsin. As a Badger, she has scored 16 goals and has made eight assists in 34 games.
