Bison Edge Madison For Third In a Row
The Bison have done it again...did anyone in the Peace Garden State expect otherwise?
As the Fargo Forum reports, Safety James Hendricks intercepted a pass in the end zone in the last 10 seconds and the Bison topped James Madison University 28-20 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
This is the third consecutive FCS national title for the Bison, and their eigth title in nine years.
A day after picking up the Walter Payton Award, quarterback Trey Lance came into the game with high expectations and he didn't disappoint, particularly in the fourth quarter when he scored from 44 yards out.
Trailing late in the game by fifteen points, the Dukes narrowed the margin to 28-20 but thanks to James Hendricks, that's as close as they would get.
“It’s surreal that it happened to be and I’m just so excited that we capped off the season the right way," Mr. Hendricks said.
