Kids are going back to class, and many are going to a brand new school.

A Special Ceremony

Bismarck Public Schools finished building two new elementary schools; now, they plan to make it official with two ribbon-cutting ceremonies.

Silver Ranch's ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6th.

Elk Ridge's ceremony will take place later that week at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, September 8th.

FYI:

Silver Ranch is located in Northeast Bismarck, at 4511 Silver Boulevard. Opposite to that, Elk Ridge is located in the Northwest corner of Bismarck at 4401 Ivory Lane.

Community Involvement

Personally, I think it's really cool that Bismarck Public Schools took several steps to involve the communities that would be impacted by the building of these new schools, If you remember, there was a contest for people to choose the names of the schools. How cool?!

Curious?

There will be an open house at these events; you can go in, take a tour, and see what they look like. I myself am pretty curious. I can only imagine. I remember my old school... half of the classrooms had white boards, the other half had old chalk boards, there was a wing we couldn't use, and there were water stains all over the ceilings.

I'm willing to bet these new schools are pretty fancy!

Another New School Soon!

There's another new school being built, and the community is pretty excited about this one. A $95 million high school is being built for Mandan students. The new high school is set to be finished by the 2024-2025 school year.
