Think about all the events, sports, entertainment, schools, businesses, and so much more that have been completely torn apart by the coronavirus. We are all doing our best to somehow cope with the way of the world now. To those that have stayed home for so long going stir crazy, to many that have continued going to work, we keep our fingers crossed when events that have been planned are coming up - like 2020 Buggies-N-Blues in Mandan. The thought process back in May was to postpone it. The likelihood of it being completely canceled was up in the air, and unfortunately, the increase of positive COVID-19 cases and under the direction of the local health district health unit caused the event to be shut down. That was then, this is now - From Mandan Progress Organization yesterday, check this out!

The good news comes with experience having had to swim in unchartered waters this whole team with the virus. The committee and car clubs have put their heads together and now have an alternative - determined not to let the pandemic ruin the communities togetherness and pride, The Classic Car Parade-N-Park is set for Saturday, August 15th and will feature a car parade starting from the Braves Center, 901 Division St NW, and continuing down 6th Ave. NW to Main Street on Saturday, Aug. 15. Cars will then disperse to various parking lots downtown for spectators to admire. Event specifics, including a start time and car placement, are being worked on.  “Of course, we wish we could present the Buggies-N-Blues people have come to know and love; however, we are hopeful that the Parade-N-Park will be something, which is better than nothing,  And we look forward to bringing Buggies back in 2021,”  replied Del Wetsch, event co-chair.

Event details will be available online at MandanProgress.org and at Buggies-N-Blues.org. Car clubs and classic car owners who are interested in participating should contact Kris Haug, from the MPO, at 751- 2983.
