BUY NOW! Waterfowl Hunting In ND Requires Federal Stamp
ATTENTION WATERFOWL HUNTERS!! Not just across North Dakota, but across the United States a federal duck stamp is being required for waterfowl hunters 16 and older beginning September 1, 2022 as well as a state license.
Waterfowl includes ducks, swans, geese, mergansers, and coots!
Thankfully for those "late to the party" this stamp can be electronically purchased like any other hunting or fishing license. Once the purchase is completed the "electronic stamp" is valid immediately.
According to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, these Federal Duck Stamps are in addition to serving as a hunting license, a conservation tool that also acts as a free pass into any national wildlife refuge that charges an entry fee. Since nearly all of the proceeds are used to conserve habitats for birds and other wildlife, birders, nature photographers, and other outdoor enthusiasts buy Duck Stamps to help ensure that they can always see wildlife at their favorite outdoor spots.
The 2022-2023 federal duck stamp can be purchased thru the North Dakota Game and Fish Dept.'s website, gf.nd.gov or at license vendors registered with the department's licensing system. Physical stamps are NOT available at North Dakota license vendors but can still be purchased at many U.S. Postal Service Offices.
The fee for the Federal Duck Stamp is $25 with an additional $2 fee added to cover shipping and handling costs of the physical stamp mailed later.
According to the ND Game and Fish website, "The electronic stamp is a purchased item like any other hunting or license. When the purchase is completed the electronic stamp is valid immediately. “Federal Duck Stamp” will be printed on the license certificate, along with an expiration date 45 days from the date of purchase. The physical stamp will be sent by postal mail."
Once the Physical stamp is processed, the stamp will be sent by the official duck stamp vendor in Texas and should arrive to the buyer(s) well before the expiration date printed on the electronic license, per the information provided by the ND Game and Fish. Questions regarding the status of the physical stamp can contact the federal duck stamp vendor customer service at 800-852-4897.
