American Heart Month is being celebrated all month long in February at CHI St. Alexius Bismarck.

Red hats have been knitted for all babies born in the month of February in celebration of American Heart Month to raise awareness of heart disease and congenital heart defects. The red hats were knitted by volunteers for the American Heart Association. They’re calling it Little Hats Big Hearts.

All babies born at three North Dakota St. Alexius Health hospitals in North Dakota including Bismarck, Williston, and Dickinson will be the recipients of almost 500 hats knitted by nine other states, including Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, California, Florida, Iowa, and also Alberta, Canada.
