For the second time in three years, the Los Angeles Kings are Stanley Cup Champions and former UND defenseman Matt Greene helped them reach the top of the NHL mountain.

Greene has been a King since a trade brought him to LA in 2008. Two years ago, Greene led the Kings to their first Stanley Cup victory over the New Jersey Devils.

Last night (June 13th), the Kings needed two overtimes to wrap up their series against the New York Rangers. Alec Martinez scored the game-winner in double overtime to give the Kings a 3-2 win and a 4-1 series victory.

Greene had four assists throughout this year's NHL playoffs, including one in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Rangers.
