Good Samaritans Rescue ND Family From SUV
Police say a group of "Good Samaritans" rescued a woman and three children after their sport utility vehicle overturned in a slough in central North Dakota.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (via the Associated Press) the woman driving the SUV lost control on U.S. Highway 83 near Max Sunday afternoon, and the vehicle ended up overturned in the water.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol say six bystanders stopped and were able to flip the vehicle upright, break out the windows and rescue the woman and her three passengers — a 5-year-old girl, a 2-year-old girl and 3-month-old boy.
"One of the bystanders performed CPR on one of the children until help arrived," the police report said. All of the people in the vehicle were taken to a Minot hospital with unknown injuries."
A spokesman for the North Dakota Highway Patrol says the woman is being charged with "driving under suspension and reckless endangerment."
