Here In Bismarck And Mandan – Are We Running Out Of Time?
This article is NOT intended to scare anyone...
...I wouldn't do that to you, however, I will write about something all the so-called doom experts have been talking ( warning ) about for years. It certainly isn't something new, as a matter of fact, people have been biting their fingernails all around the world since 1947. That's 76 years of people trying to somehow warn us that our time on earth is coming to an end, and by the way that includes Bismarck and Mandan. So I had some thoughts on this, what do we do if we know we might be gone for a while? Well, I leave out extra food for my two cranky cats.
Back in 1947, someone had the idea to set up a clock "Ticking toward midnight", with the clever idea to scare the heck out of us
The other intention of course was to make the world ( Bismarck, Mandan included ) aware of impending events. According to theguardian.com "The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists set its Doomsday Clock at 90 seconds to midnight, the closest to midnight the clock has been since it was established in 1947 to illustrate global existential threats at the dawn of the nuclear weapons age" - Because of Ukraine - Russia conflict, "Rachel Bronson, the president and CEO of the Bulletin, said the clock had been moved forward from 100 seconds to midnight, where it had been for the previous three years" - Here is a chart of just how much "The Clock" has moved since 1947:
So what can WE do out here in Bismarck and Mandan? Make sure we maintain "North Dakota Nice" to each other and maybe the rest of the world will get the hint.
