Oil prices are up, stocks are down, and the world is wondering if we're about to go to war with Iran.

As the New York Times reports, tensions between the U.S. and Iran, which weren't that good to begin with, are now soaring in the wake of the killing of Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani, who directed Iranian paramilitary forces throughout the Middle East.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has vowed to exact vengeance for the killing of his nation's top soldier, while the administration continues to assert the killing was justified.

Speaking from Maralago, the president said the Iranian general “was plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and military personnel, but we caught him in the act and terminated him.”

Democrats are questioning the timing of the attack, asking if the besieged administration is "wagging the dog," i.e. using the threat of war to divert attention from the impeachment proceedings.

Things could get very "interesting" very soon...
