We are all getting ready to hit the road and travel to our summer vacation destinations. With that, there are a few places you may want to steer clear of this year.

Travel Advisory

The United States Department of State issues travel advisories to help keep Americans safe when traveling and/or when going on their vacations.

There are different levels to travel advisories.

Level one – exercise normal precautions

Level two -- exercise increased caution

Level three -- reconsider travel

Level four -- do not travel

Obviously, level four is the worst advisory they can issue, so let's take a closer look at that. First, why are travel advisories issued in the first place?

Why Travel Advisories?

There are a lot of things factor in the decision to give a certain place a travel advisory, crime, kidnapping, terrorism, conflict with our country, etc. There are actually a whopping 19 countries with a level four travel advisory. I've put together a list of nine to help you make your travel decisions.
