Fall Weather Temps for North Dakota

We have officially flipped the calendar to the month of October, and fall is here. This is my favorite month of the year, and it's not even close. The fall colors are really starting to pop, football is in full swing (SKOL), bird hunting, some of the best fishing of the year, pumpkin everything, and spooky Halloween season. It's the best; now will the weather cooperate?

I decided to check in with my friends at the National Weather Service, and thankfully, North Dakota has received some much-needed moisture over the last week to help with our drought and wildfire concerns. Temps were mostly around average in September, as we were able to give our air conditioners a break after a very warm July and August.

Speaking of temperatures, the National Weather Service is calling temperatures well above normal for the period of October through December in North Dakota. We are firmly in the grip of a Super El Niño, and that typically brings us warmer temps both in the fall and the winter for our state.

Let's talk fall precipitation in North Dakota. A Super El Niño typically brings us slightly below to near-average precipitation in North Dakota. The National Weather Service is calling for equal chances of precipitation for North Dakota from October to December. This means we will likely see average rainfall or snowfall for this period.
