Jail Time Over for ND “Terrorizing” Suspect

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man arrested in an incident in which a North Dakota deputy sheriff died from an apparent heart attack has pleaded guilty to two felony charges and three misdemeanors and been sentenced.

Forty-seven-year-old Robbie Roberson, of Lincoln, was sentenced to the two years he already has served behind bars and was released from jail Tuesday. He will be on supervised probation for five years.

The charges resulted from a Sept. 28, 2011, incident in which authorities said Roberson fled from officers while driving drunk and threatened officers who eventually arrested him. Thirty-nine-year-old Burleigh County Deputy Bryan Sleeper died at the scene of the arrest south of Bismarck.

Roberson pleaded guilty to two felony terrorizing counts and to misdemeanor charges of fleeing, preventing arrest and driving drunk.
