Who doesn't love a good "Love Story"? This one happened right here in North Dakota over the weekend. On Sunday one man took to the skies for his one-of-a-kind wedding proposal to the love of his life.

Sunday Morning

Following church service Sunday, the couple Michael Berg and Kaylene Klein were on their way home when plans took a different direction. Michael Berg, a farmer who also just happens to be a pilot, explained to his girlfriend Kaylene Klein that he wanted to go flying quick before heading all the way home.

Love Is In The Air

After take-off, Berg turned the plane towards the family farm southeast of Hazen. That's when his co-pilot, Klein, noticed huge tarps with words on them. After a minute or so, Klein says, "it finally clicked." The tarps read, "Kaylene Will You Marry Me?"

Aviation "Engagement" Checklist

As Klein was letting the words sink in, Berg pulled out a "Pre-Engagement Checklist" that he had made with a list of questions. In aviation, checklists are often used. This detailed list was definitely thought thru carefully by the Pilot and of course ended with the Copilot answering "YES!"

Over the weekend, North Dakota experienced higher winds that only were calming for short periods overnight. During the night on Saturday, between the hours of midnight and 3 AM Sunday morning, Berg had snuck out to the field to stake down the wedding proposal sign.
