Most of us take for granted just how almost impossible it is to make it to the National Hockey League as a player

Think about how many youth leagues, high schools, colleges, and other ranks of hockey there must be all over the country. There are only 23 players that are on a roster, and just 32 teams total in the National Hockey League - so just to make it that far is incredible. A Minot native is literally in the top percentage of young players that will be picked in the 2023 NHL Draft ( in June ).

An extremely talented Minot native Zach Nehring is heading toward future stardom

With the tools and ability that this young man has shown it's no surprise whatsoever that he "...is ranked as one of the top North American prospects heading into the draft" according to minotdailynews.com. With most early success stories there usually is a tremendous amount of sacrifices attached to it. Leaving home at a young age to pursue a dream is what so many great athletes have in common, and at just age 14 Zach found himself on his way to "... attend Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minn. with the goal of focusing on his hockey career" minotdailynews.com added.

With a winning attitude, Zach is ready to take his skills to the ultimate level

Must be one of the greatest feelings in the world to be doing what you love to do and he definitely shines with confidence -  “Don’t be afraid to fail and don’t let anyone say you can’t do it. Most importantly, make sure you’re having fun and that it’s something you’re passionate about.” Great advice, now all we have to do is wait until June and see where Zach lands in the draft!
