Exhausted Mother Defies Odds to Give Birth to Third Set of Twins
The third time continued to be the charm for one mother.
A Scottish woman recently gave birth to her third set of twins.
Karen Rodger, 41, and her 44-year-old husband welcomed two girls via C-section. They join the couple’s two other sets of twins, all of whom are boys.
There must be something in the water at Rodger’s house because the odds of delivering a third set of twins are an astronomical 500,000-to-one.
Maybe she’s delirious from not getting enough sleep, maybe she’s in shock at how much money she will spend on diapers in her lifetime or maybe she’s in denial about how her house will never be clean again, but Rodger is over the moon with her additions:
I just could not believe it. It never crossed my mind that it would be twins again, I just thought that just doesn’t happen to people like me but I’m absolutely delighted.”
Rodger goes down in history with select company. Guinness says a Russian woman gave birth to 16 sets of twins in the 18th century and a South African women welcomed a trio of girl twins and three other mixed sets over a seven-year period between 1967 and 1973.
Something tells us Rodger may be too tired to give any more interviews if she ever gets to that point.
