MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to setting fire to a dwelling he lived in with his girlfriend and the couple's child.

Ricky Sherven is charged in federal court with arson. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

The incident happened March 3 in Parshall. Authorities say Sherven set a roll of toilet paper on fire and set it under the couch in the living room.

The fire caused about $35,000 in damage.

A change of plea hearing has not been set.
