North Dakota Had Highest Employment-Citizen Ratio in the U.S. in 2016
It's a well documented fact that North Dakota has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the US. A new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics further solidifies that fact.
According to the report, North Dakota had 69.2 percent of its population working in 2016, higher than any other state.
The average ratio for the entire U.S. was 59.7 percent meaning North Dakota was about 10 percent above the national average.
Many surrounding states including Minnesota and South Dakota also had employment ratios of 64 percent or more.
West Virginia had the lowest ratio at just 50 percent.
