North Dakota Tourism has a map to make you smile

We have heard it said many times and we are sure you have heard it too...

North Dakota, there is nothing to see, "what is there?"  We get it.

It's the 47th state in terms of population.  But that is part of what gives North Dakota its beauty.  It's not the lack of population, but rather the hidden beauty in place of the lack of population.  And now is the time to see what can put a smile on your face.

Once you get out of our major cities, and off the beaten path,

North Dakota offers a sea of brilliance that is sure to lift your spirits.

This time of year brings fields of yellow.  The Sunflower.

The sunflower is not North Dakota's state flower, but in our opinion, it should be!

You now have the opportunity to take in the hidden treasure and you know exactly where to take in this hidden treasure.

The North Dakota Tourism Department now has an interactive Sunflower Map, which points out some of the most vibrant sunflower fields that may in many cases, just be a short drive of where you live.

This interactive map is updated daily on the conditions of certain sunflower fields, along with exact GPS coordinates allowing you and your family to head right to the field to enjoy.

Make sure you bring that camera with you to take pictures.  In fact, the blooming Sunflower Fields are one of the most popular backdrops for senior pictures.

But remember to get permission before entering any fields!

PAY ATTENTION to mailboxes along your path that are marked ND Be Legendary.  These contain a packet of sunflower seeds that are free for you to grab and enjoy.
