You don't necessarily have to believe in the meaning of astrological signs to find this interesting. Medium.com published a study where they found the least and most popular zodiac signs in each state. The source analyzed birth date/census data. What it found might surprise you.

It Boils Down To Two

Overall, across the country, there are two VERY popular astrological signs: Virgo and Cancer. As a matter of fact, only three states had something different. Virginia is the land of Libras, while Mississippi and Georgia had Aries as the most popular sign.

Something In The Air

Virgos are born between August 23rd and September 22nd.

If you do the math, you will notice that the majority of people in states like Arizona, Texas, and Florida had to conceive sometime roughly in late January/early February. Maybe this has something to do with Valentine's Day. -- Just an uneducated guess.

Another observation: states with Virgos as the most popular sign are almost exclusively Southern states.

More Math

Cancers are born between June 21st and July 22nd.

Cancer (The crab) is the other big sign in the U.S. This means that most people are conceived in late October or November.

Another uneducated guess: the months of conception are cold-weather months; maybe this is because people are spending more time together indoors.

Least Popular Zodiac Signs

The least popular zodiac sign for most states is the Capricorn. If you are one, just know you are rare.

The second least popular zodiac sign in the country, for mostly the Southern states, is Taurus. Another uncommon sign is Pisces.

North Dakota's

North Dakota's most popular sign: Virgo.

Least popular: is Capricorn
