The North Dakota Capitol Grounds will soon be the center of a celebration. "Pride on the ND Capitol Grounds" will be held Saturday, June 18th from 11am to 5pm.

The event is hosted every year by Dakota Outright.

Free Mom Hugs And More

There will be vendors, music, face painting, free mom hugs, yoga, a cornhole tournament, and other yard games.

People will also be giving out 'free mom hugs' as a gesture of love to those who may have not had supportive parents. According to USAToday.com, it was found that parental rejection has a very detrimental, lasting effect on those in the LQBTQ+ community.

According to the "Pride on the ND Capitol Lawn" Facebook page, they will have special guest speakers throughout the day as well. On the event page, it also says a drag show will be taking place that day, as well.

According to dakotaoutright.org. the event is free and open to all ages.
