FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Prosecutor Cherie Clark says she'll seek jail time for three former North Dakota State football players accused of skipping out on court-ordered community service.

One of the three, Don Carter, appeared in court on a bench warrant Monday. Arrest warrants have been issued for Aireal Boyd and D.J. McNorton.

They're among 15 people accused of faking signatures on petition forms for two ballot initiatives last summer. They all pleaded guilty last fall to an election offense and were sentenced to probation, community service and fines.

The Forum reports Carter told Judge Frank Racek that he hasn't been in Fargo often enough to complete his sentence by the court's deadline because he was traveling between Fargo and Baltimore for his mother's medical issues.

He's due back in court Aug. 19.
