Rural North Dakota Church Closing After 133 Years
CHRISTINE, N.D. (AP) — A small rural church south of Fargo is closing after 133 years due to a dwindling congregation.
The Forum reports the South Pleasant Lutheran Church in Christine held a parish-wide farewell service Sunday. The church is slated to close in a few weeks.
The church was the site of about 600 baptisms, 400 confirmations, 110 marriages and 260 funerals.
