WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — A South Dakota man is facing felony charges in an alleged carjacking in North Dakota.

Thirty-year-old Matthew Dumarce, of Sioux Falls, is accused of taking a van at knifepoint in Wahpeton on Saturday morning. Authorities say he abandoned the vehicle after a police chase and was arrested later across the border in Minnesota.

Dumarce is charged with felony robbery and fleeing police, along with a misdemeanor count of driving under suspension. He could face more than 15 years in prison if convicted. Court documents do not list an attorney for him.

The Wahpeton Daily News reports police are investigating whether a second person at the scene of the carjacking did anything wrong.
