So immigration has always been a thorny issue. But to be transparent, my last name is McGowan and I don't believe people judge me because I'm Irish.

Unless I've had too much whiskey and insist people are after my Lucky Charms.

I grew up in Minot, North Dakota which has an Air Force Base meaning we were always more culturally diverse than most of the state.  When I came to Bismarck non-whites were few and far between.  I bet our NBA farm team The Dakota Wizards would tell you the same. So North Dakota's population has certainly become more diverse over the last two decades.

But where is everybody coming from?
