I grew up in Minot, North Dakota which has an Air Force Base meaning we were always more culturally diverse than most of the state. When I came to Bismarck non-whites were few and far between. I bet our NBA farm team The Dakota Wizards would tell you the same. So North Dakota's population has certainly become more diverse over the last two decades.
