Great Plains Tribal members commemorated Robert Kennedy’s 1963 visit to Bismarck Wednesday at the United Tribes Technical College Tribal Leaders Summit.

Kennedy, then the U.S. Attorney General, came to Bismarck to speak before the National Congress of American Indians on Sept. 13, 1963.  Both RFK and his brother, President John F. Kennedy, were considered champions of rights for Native Americans.
