Roger Stone was arrested by the FBI this week as part of Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible campaign links to Russia.

Yahoo! News reports the former Donald trump confidant and campaign adviser was taken into custody Friday at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Charges include  lying to a congressional committee and witness tampering, related to his interactions "related to the release by WikiLeaks of hacked emails during the 2016 presidential election."

Mr. Stone had predicted he would be arrested and has maintained his innocence. He issued this statement outside the courthouse: "I will please not guilty to these charges, I will defeat them in court, I believe this is a politically motivated investigation."

President Trump tweeted: "Greatest Witch Hunt in the History of our Country! NO COLLUSION! Border Coyotes, Drug Dealers and Human Traffickers are treated better. Who alerted CNN to be there?"

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said on Friday that the indictment of Roger Stone, had “nothing to do” with the president.
