Brock Boeser, one of the stars of the University of North Dakota's 2015-16 national championship men's hockey team, has announced that he will return for his sophomore season.

According to the Grand Forks Herald, Boeser made the announcement Monday afternoon (4/11), before his team's national championship celebration at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

In his freshman season, Boeser scored 60 points and helped lead the Fighting Hawks to their first national championship in 16 years. He also had four points in the team's championship victory over Quinnipiac.

The NHL's Vancouver Canucks drafted Boeser 23rd overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Instead of returning to school, the star winger could have decided to sign with the NHL team that drafted him.

Boeser is the first of many UND stars that have decisions to make regarding their future. The team will lose just four seniors from their championship team, including forward Drake Caggiula, who scored six goals in the NCAA Division I Men's Hockey tournament.
